Altoona Day held in Florida

Altoona Day 2018 was held on Feb. 22 at Duff’s Original Buffet in Bradenton, Fla.

The affair has been held for many years at various Florida locations, and a total of 135 people from the Altoona area, who either live in Florida or spend part of their winters in the Sunshine State, attended this year’s event.

Following a buffet lunch, the day featured a social time to renew and make new acquaintances. Several door prizes also highlighted the activities.

Toni Marie Feret, assistant director of development at Penn State Altoona, informed the group about the college’s continuing role in developing downtown Altoona, and Peggy Cawthern gave an update on Altoona Area School District alumni association activities.

Burns, who received a gift and thanks for his services, will be succeeded by Donna Luciano in that position. Jim Lane was re-elected president.
