Walter Bieber, who died Jan. 22, 2016, at the age of 91, opened Alto Glass, his first glass company in Pennsylvania, and then expanded its operations in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Florida. The company completed major installations at Penn State University, Walter Reed Medical Center, the National Arboretum, the Mormon Temple in Washington, D.C., and Baltimore/Washington International Airport.
