Roaring Spring library sets activities

ROARING SPRING — The Roaring Spring Library has announced its activities for March. Library hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday.

n The 10th annual “A Novel Affair Dinner & Silent Auction” will be held Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Roaring Spring starting at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $25 per ticket, and they are available at the library during regular business hours.

n In recognition of March as National Nutrition Month, “Go Further with Food! Healthy Eating on a Budget” will be held at 6 p.m. March 20. Registered dietitian Cindy Snare will discuss how to select healthy foods on a budget.

n The Central Allegheny Lyme Disease Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. March 14. Share with people who will understand your Lyme disease story. For more information, contact Brenda Fredrick at

n “Essential Oils: Why Greens?” will be held at 6 p.m. March 13. This session will also include a make-and-take customized blend. There is a small fee to cover the cost of materials and roller bottles. RSVP is optional to

n Smartphone Basics will be held at 4 p.m. March 20. Kayla Noel from Verizon Wireless Zone in Roaring Spring will offer smartphone tips and tricks. The class is free; no signup is needed. It doesn’t matter what type of smart phone you have or who your carrier is. It is a pressure-free environment to learn more about your smart devices. Take your device and your charger.

n Lego my Library will be held from 4:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays with Miss Cortney. Children ages 6 and older will enjoy fun and interactive Lego building challenges. Sign up is optional.

n Block Play will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays with Miss Cortney. Block Play is a half hour of fun playing with the library’s wooden blocks, play animals, vehicles and people. Signup is optional; all children are welcome to come with their adult.

n Troop 43009 Girl Scouts of Western PA hosts Daisies, Brownies, Juniors and Cadets at 6 p.m. Monday on the lower level of the library.

n Elements in Harmony NAMI Youth and Family Support will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. March 15. Participants will share experiences, build strengths, identify resources and improve coping skills. It is also a great opportunity for youth to socialize and make new friends. All family members are welcome. RSVP by calling Paula Miller at 207-1031.

n The library’s Knitting and Crochet Group will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesdays. Whether you have been knitting for decades or just days join this welcoming group. Just come when you can and take your current project. Call the library for more information.
