Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site, Gallitzin, 886-6150
Heritage Hike, 2 p.m. Sunday, meet at the Staple Bend Tunnel Trail. This is a 4.5 mile round-trip hike to commemorate the 184th anniversary of the opening of the Allegheny Portage Railroad. Reservations are required.
Prince Gallitzin State Park, Patton, 674-1005
Nature Story Time, 10:30 a.m. Friday, meet in the lower level of the park office. This program is designed for children ages 3-6, but all ages are welcome. Activities include a story, hands-on learning and a fun craft. Reservations are requested.
Turtles of PA, 10:30 a.m. Saturday, lower level of the park office. Discover what life is like for these amazing reptiles in this slideshow program.
Spring Wildflowers, 1:30 p.m. Saturday, meet in the lower level of the park office. Learn about the wonderful wildflowers outside and the history and folklore attached to them.
Feeder Watching, 10:30 a.m. March 21, meet on the park office viewing deck. Pick up some tips on bird identification, feeder selection and placement and foods to offer your birds. Dress appropriately for the outdoor weather. Some binoculars will be available or take your own.
