Applications being accepted for Triolo music competition

UNIVERSITY PARK — The 34th Phyllis Triolo Mu-sic Competition will be held on May 19 for middle and high school students in central Pennsylvania.

The competition is sponsored by the Central Penn-sylvania Music Teachers Association in cooperation with the School of Music at Penn State and financial help from Centre Founda-tion.

Instrumentalists, vocalists and pianists compete in two divisions in Music Building I. The junior division is for grades six to eight; the senior division is for grades nine through 12.

Prizes in each division are: $300 for first prize, $200 for second prize and a possible third prize of $100.

The deadline to enter is April 22. Fees to enter are $35 for students of teachers who are not members of the Central Music Teachers Association and $25 for students of teachers who are members.
