Driving classes offered for senior citizens

Seniors for Safe Driving will hold several highway safety education programs for area seniors ages 55 and older. The programs are certified by PennDOT. The successful completion of the program makes senior drivers eligible for a 5 percent discount on their automobile insurance premiums, across the board, for a period of three years.

Those who have never participated in a senior driving program previously must attend a two-day (four hours each) or one-day eight-hour standard class. To qualify for a one-day refresher program, seniors must have attended a senior driving program in the past.
