Claysburg PAST to sponsor ’80s Night

CLAYSBURG — Claysburg Preserving Artifacts, Stories and Traditions will sponsor an ’80s Night from 6 to 10 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Greenfield Township Center on Bedford Street.

Tickets are $20 per person, which includes food, music, prizes and non-

alcoholic drinks. This is a BYOB event for those ages 21 and older.

The evening will feature food from the ’80s era. Games of chance will also be available. Costumes are welcome, and prizes will be awarded for best costumes.

There will be a trivia night and air guitar contest, along with a DJ playing music from the ’80s.

The proceeds from this event will go to the Claysburg Hall of Fame to cover expenses for induction of new members.

The Hall of Fame Committee in early 2018 will announce its fifth set of inductees and that ceremony will take place at

3 p.m. April 7 at Clays-burg-Kimmel High School.

The committee is comprised of nine members from the Claysburg area three of whom are elected each year. The Hall of Fame Committee is an off-shoot from the Claysburg PAST organization, which financially sponsors the group.

Tickets may be purchased at Claysburg Area Public Library, from members of Claysburg PAST or by calling Maria Leppert at 937-1907 or Elaine Smith at 937-3397. For more details on the Hall of Fame, visit www.claysburg.us.
