Bourbon Street Gala set for Feb. 24

Event will raise money for diabetes research

The Blair Type 1 Diabetes Foundation will host a Bourbon Street Gala from 5 to 10 p.m. Feb. 24 at The Casino at Lakemont.

Attendees will enjoy strolling down Bourbon Street while savoring hors doeuvres and then relaxing with a sit-down dinner.

The event will feature a silent auction, basket raffles, 50/50 and a cash bar.

Flight 19 Unplugged will help set the mood for the evening, along with special guest speakers.

Various sponsorship opportunities are still available, and basket donations are welcome.

The $50 per person admission price includes appetizers and dinner. Cocktail attire is suggested.

The money raised at the 2018 Gala will be donated to Joslin Diabetes Center at Harvard Medical Center specifically designated for cure-based research for type 1 diabetes.

Last March, BT1DF donated $24,000 to Joslin from its 2017 gala.
