Baseball clinic with the Curve players

Courtesy photo On July 29, the Cambria County Commissioners’ Office and the District Attorney’s Office sponsored a baseball clinic during Ebensburg’s Homecoming with players from the Altoona Curve at Ebensburg’s Lake Rowena. Commissioner Tom Chernisky welcomed the participants, followed by drug prevention presentations by Beth Penna from the District Attorney’s Office and Mike Messina from the Community Action Partnership. Curve players Jackson Williams and Michael Suchy then split the group of about 50 kids to practice pitching, catching and other fundamentals of baseball. At the close of the clinic, the kids lined up for pictures and autographs with the players, and Altoona Curve mascot Al Tuna made a special guest appearance.
