Altoona woman crowned Lifetime SU Ambassador
Typhani Janelle Russo of Altoona was crowned Lifetime SU Ambassador during the awards ceremony at Supermodels Unlimited Pageant held Oct. 21 and 22 in Windsor, Conn., at the Hilton Garden Inn.
While in Connecticut, she also participated in a magazine photo shoot, fashion show and also attended the pageant in support of the contestants who were competing.
She was surprised with the title, receiving a crown, sash, designer cocktail dress and earrings.
Her participation in the fashion show included walking the runway in the T-shirt show, Couture Room show and the Jessie Couture Gown show.
As a lifetime titleholder, Typhani will periodically travel to various destinations both within the country and internationally with SU Magazine to participate in photo shoots and charity events.
She will also continue her volunteerism and community service in Altoona.
Russo has been a model for Supermodels Unlimited Magazine since 2010, when she first became a cover model finalist through a photo contest sponsored by the magazine.
She then received a Rising Star and Super-model with Style page and went on to appear on three SU Magazine covers and numerous other pages of the magazine.
She has traveled to Rome, California, Nashville, New York City, New Jersey, Connecticut and Virginia for magazine photo shoots and fundraising events hosted by SU.
Two of the charitable organizations that the magazine raises funds for are Camp Meridian and Toys For Tots.
She was one of the Supermodels with Heart for the magazine by donating to kids with heart disease to participate in the camp.
Locally, she works hands-on with many organizations, sharing her time and talents with many charitable groups.
The events involving helping animals and kids are most dear to her heart.
She is available for speaking engagements and can be hired for various events and children’s parties, appearing as Snow White, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Winifred Sanderson, Bookworm Belle and Zombie Beauty Queen.

Russo has been the recipient of numerous awards including the U.S. Presidential Lifetime Call To Service Award for volunteerism, U.S. Presidential gold, silver and bronze level medals and pins for community service, a citation from the House of Representatives, governor of Pennsylvania Recognition Certificate and U.S. Senate volunteer service recognition, along with many other accolades.
