‘Bikers for Barkers’ to aid CPHS shelter animals

The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society will hold its 17th annual “Bikers for Barkers” charity motorcycle ride on July 30.

Riders will leave at 11 a.m. from Roundhouse Harley-Davidson, Duncansville.

Riders will follow a route through central Pennsylvania with stops at Glenn’s Place, Route 220 in Claysburg, and at R.J.’s Pub & Grill, 615 N. Ninth St. in Philipsburg.

Upon return to Brush Mountain Sportsman’s Club in Altoona, riders will be treated to an Imler’s Poultry chicken barbecue dinner and entertainment by DJ Toby and the band Shallow 9.

Non-riders can participate in dinner, music and fun at the Brush Mountain Sportsman’s Club at 4:30 p.m. for $10.

Alcoholic beverages for this event will be provided by City Beverage and will be available for purchase.

Early registration is $20 per rider, and day-of registration is $25 per rider. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. on the day of the event. Registration includes a commemorative T-shirt. Early registration forms can be obtained at the humane society or at www.centralpahumane.org.

There will also be 50/50 drawings and a Chinese auction. Proceeds from this event provide direct support to shelter animals at the CPHS.
