Unter Uns plans 95th anniversary events

The Unter Uns Club, 1401 Van Buren Ave., Altoona, will celebrate its 95th anniversary next weekend.

Flashpoint will perform outside from 8 to 11 p.m. on Friday. The kitchen will be open.

On Saturday, Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. in the club, followed by a performance by Autobahn outside from 6 to 9 p.m. with the Schuhplattlers performing at intermission. Agent Smith will perform inside the club from 9 p.m. to midnight. The kitchen will be open.

A Zieguner dinner (pork chops cooked over an open fire) will be available in the outside kitchen after Mass. It is by advance ticket only. Tickets can be purchased at the club for $12 each.

On June 25, Weiss Wurst (breakfast) will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.

All events are open to the public.

Golden Nuggets plan dinner-dance

The Golden Nuggets Club in Altoona will hold a dinner-dance at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bavarian Hall, Altoona. The cost is $10 per person.

Three hours of dancing will be held in the upstairs ballroom after the meal.

The club is accepting new members.

Bridge club announces recent winners

The Altoona Duplicate Bridge Club has announced the winners of its recent games.

June 7 — North/South: Jean Keller and Jean Green, first; Barbara Marinak and Bruce Baldwin, second. East/West: Jeannine Fagley and JoEllen Gehl, first; Peggy Gutshall and Diana Colabrese, second.

June 8 — North/South: Larry Gourley and Jeff Gourley, first; Jean Keller and Jean Green, second; Barbara Marinak and Jeannine Fagley, third. East/West: Irv Seltzer and Ed McCauley, first; Bonnie Robeson and Christa Brenner, second; Summer Rifkah and Thana Moussa, third.
