School of Nursing Alumni plan events

The Altoona Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association is planning the following events:

June 17 — Annual spring banquet at 5:30 p.m. at Park Hills Country Club, Altoona. The cost is $25. RSVP to Carolyn (Evans) Troy at 944-1750 by June 1.

July 18 — General business meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Graystone Villas, 1101 Flamingo Drive, Altoona.

Horseshoe Seniors plan dinner-dance

The Horseshoe Seniors will hold a dinner-dance on Thursday at the Bavarian Hall, Altoona.

Dinner is at 5:30 p.m., followed by three hours of dancing to music by a DJ. Admission is $10 per person. Singles and couples are welcome.

This dinner-dance is held on the third Thursday of each month. Reservations must be made by the Monday before each event.

Bridge club announces recent winners

The Altoona Duplicate Bridge Club has recognized the winners of its recent games.

May 3 — North/South: John Regan and Carol Moyer, first; Jean Keller and Jean Green, second; Phyllis Robbins and Ted Shade, third. East/West: Bruce Baldwin and Barbara Marinak, first; Mary Moran and Bea Stevens, second; Jeff Gourley and Larry Gourley, third.

May 4 — North/South: Barbara Marinak and Jeanine Feagley, first; Diana Colabrese and JoEllen Gehl, second: Jean Keller and Jean Green, third. East/West: Summer Rifkah and John Regan, first; Betsy Goulianis and Pat Dorfmeister, second; Jeff Gourley and Larry Gourley, third.

Games are open to the public and are held at 6 p.m. Wednesdays and 12:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Hollidaysburg American Legion Social Hall.

Friends of Library set spring program

The Friends of the Altoona Area Public Library will hold its spring program at noon Thursday in the library theater.

Local artist and conservator Michael Allison will speak on restoring the interior of Baker Mansion.

The program is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
