HOLLIDAYSBURG — The 2017 Blair County Dairy Princess Pageant will be held on May 19 at the West Loop Missionary Alliance Church.

The pageant will serve as an introduction to the 2017-18 Blair County Dairy Promotion team, as well as recognition of the 2016-17 Blair County Dairy Prin-cess Jenna Kephart.

A meal of ham, gourmet potatoes, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, roll, ice cream and milk will be served at 6:30 p.m. with the pageant beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are available for the event by calling Dairy Promotion Committee members Jean Sollenberger at 793-4446 or Diana Longenecker at 793-4881. Deadline for reservations is Saturday.

Two local young ladies will be seeking the titles of the 2017-18 Blair County Dairy Princess and the 2017-18 Blair County Alternate Dairy Princess.

Yvonne Longenecker of Williamsburg is the daughter Doug and Yvette Longenecker. Kara Stultz, also of Williamsburg, is the daughter of Rob and Tammy Stultz.

Both girls will prepare a speech and a presentation geared toward a specific audience. They will also participate in a pre-pageant interview and answer an impromptu question in front of the audience.

The girls will then spend the next 12 months promoting the dairy industry and area dairy farmers while sharing the message of including dairy products as a part of a healthy diet.
