Alumni to present scholarship to Tussey Mountain grad

SAXTON — Since 1993, the Saxton Liberty High School Alumni Association has been providing scholarship awards to college students who are Tussey Mountain High School graduates.

The first award of $500 was presented to one TM graduate, but through the years, the amount of the award has increased, and a scholarship award of $2,500 is being offered in 2017.

The scholarship committee is seeking applications for the 2017 award to be presented at the annual Alum-ni Association Reunion Banquet, to be held Sept. 2 at Six Mile Run Fire Hall.

To be eligible for the award, the student must be a graduate of Tussey Moun-tain High School, be a second-year college student enrolled in a college program leading to a four-year degree and include an official transcript of first-year grades.

Applications may be picked up at the Tussey Mountain High School office, the Saxton Liberty Elementary office, the Saxton Community Library or downloaded from the TMHS website.

Completed applications must be received by July 20. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

The award will be made directly to the college for the benefit of the student.
