Commander Frank J Benfatta, 827 Post American Legion and 21st District Commander Andy Stowell recently presented Mykenah Ann Lynn-Massar with a cash scholarship award for her winning essay.

The essay contest was open to district high school students with the topic of “Desecration of the U.S. Flag.”

“I found this an easy essay to write since I have such strong feelings about what our flag represents,” said Lynn-Massar. “This award will help toward my college expenses.”

Lynn-Massar plans to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania majoring in pre-dentistry.
