Each year at Christmas, Gables Department Store invited the Cherub Choir of First Evangelical Lutheran Church to sing for shoppers. This is the choir that sang Christmas carols in 1973 on the steps to the mezzanine by the 14th St entrance where books were sold. Following the singing, the choir was also invited to enjoy ice cream and cookies in the basement restaurant. Shown are (from left): first row — Allison Falk, Wendee Mohler, Barbi Burleigh and Krista Crago; second row — Bruce Burleigh, Steve Luther, Jeff Giarth, Steve Ickes and Bernard Ickes; third row — Toni Shelow, unknown, Gayle McCachren and Nanette Nabors; fourth row — Becky Luther, Sandra Rutherford, Darla Curry and Dana Beatty; fifth row — Amy Shields, Amy Renney, Jackie Mohler and Melissa Ickes; sixth row — Brenda Fickes, Tammy Shields, Lisa Suckling and Todd Renney; seventh row — Josie Zimmerman, Susie Zimmerman, Sandra McCachren and Michele Shelow. The director was Linda Renney, and the accompanist was Linda Wilt. The photo was submitted by Linda Renney of Hollidaysburg.
