Roaring Spring library sets April activities

ROARING SPRING — The Roaring Spring Community Library has announced its activities for April.

Library hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays.

Donations are accepted at the Book Cellar, located in the library at 320 E. Main St., during library hours. For more information, call 224-2994.

6 p.m. April 10 — Autism and Mental Health Diagnosis Family Support Group will meet. Individuals and family members discuss questions and concerns and benefit from a supportive network of individuals. RSVP by calling Paula Miller at 502-4093.

10:30 a.m. Tuesdays — “1, 2, 3, Play With Me.” Miss Pauline will have stories, song and play time.

6 p.m. April 18 — ZYTO Compass Scans: Essential Oils. Candy Feathers will introduce Zyto Compass Scans and how to know and and learn about the essential oils your body needs. ZYTO scans will be done 30 minutes prior to the class. Call 224-2994 to reserve a time.

6 p.m. April 3 — “Get Chalky at the Library.” Brenda Frederick will help participants create a terra cotta or metal spring planter or or table centerpiece with chalky paints. Planters will be provided, or bring one from home. Project fee is $5 to cover the cost of materials. Call the library at 224-2994 to reserve a seat.

6 p.m. April 10 — “Pollinator Gardening.” PSU Master Gardner Janice Snowberger will identify plants used in pollinator gardens and discuss ways to attract pollinators and how to incorporate native plants.

4 to 5:30 p.m. April 4, 11, 18 and 25 — “Lego Mindstorms.” Attendees will learn the basic of building and programming a robot. Children ages 8 and older may participate. Space is limited. Call 224-2994 to sign up.

6 p.m. April 12 — “Lyme Disease 101.” Brenda Frederick of the Allegheny Lyme Support Group will share her personal experiences.

6 p.m. April 17 — “Recycling 101.” Katrina Pope will discuss how to begin recycling at home.

12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Mondays — Block Play with Miss Breanna. Participants can play with wooden blocks and play animals, vehicles and people.

1:30 to 2 p.m. Thursdays — “Art @ the Library with Miss Breanna.” Children will be using a variety of paper materials and paint to create a picture inspired by the stories and art of Eric Carle author of “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.” Participants are asked to take a painting shirt. Space is limited. Sign up by calling 224-2994. All children are welcome to come with their adult.

6 p.m. Mondays — Troop 43009 Girl Scouts of Western PA Hosts. Daisies, Brownies, Juniors and Cadets will meet on the lower level of the library.

6 p.m. Wednesdays — Knitting and Crochet Group. Beginners and advanced individuals. Take your current project.

Friends of the Library

Book sale on gardening and cooking books — Books are two for $5 or fill a bag for $3. The Book Cellar is open during library hours.
