Roaring Spring library offers tech help
ROARING SPRING — Need help with your laptop, iPad, Kindle, smartphone or other device?
Drop by the Roaring Spring Community Library for individual tech help from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 24.
Library staff will offer a one-hour tech-help drop-in. Take your laptop or mobile device and your questions any time during that hour.
Staff will work one-on-one to help answer questions. All skill levels are welcome.
Participants also can learn how to download Overdrive e-books to their device and learn how to use a smartphone app as a library card.
Take your device and your charger or power cord.

‘Day at the Hills’ set for Feb 2, April 5
South Hills School of Business & Technology will hold “A Day at the Hills” from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 2 and April 5 at its State College, Altoona and Lewistown campuses. The snow date is Feb. 9.
Participants can explore specialized associate degree options, sit in on classes, meet faculty and students, explore financial aid options for those who qualify, attend veteran information sessions, discover diverse career opportunities and learn how South Hills students prepare for success.

Valentine’s Day dinner, dance set
HOLLIDAYSBURG — Area residents are invited to celebrate with their Valentine on Feb. 10 at the U.S. Hotel Restaurant & Tavern and help raise money for the Mountain Lion BackPack Program.
Enjoy a sit down dinner with live entertainment and a DJ for dancing afterward.
The cost is $35 per person or $60 per couple, which includes a champagne toast.
A cash bar will be available. Participants must be at least 21 years old to attend.
