Free fitness class set for Sunday

The ZumbaSistaz Fun Fitnezz at Simply Dance (in the Greenwood Center) is offering a free one-hour ZumbaSistaz Sampler (January Motivator Mixer) full body fitness class from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

The doors will open at 4:30 p.m.

The event is being held to celebrate the new year and motivate people to get back on the track to healthier living through exercise.

This class will include a sampling of Zumba Fitness, New FXP Fitness Hula Hoop and Urban Boot Camp ZumbaSistaz Fun Fitnezz Style.

There will be a few vendors (Younique, Thirty-One, Lularoe, etc) and time for browsing/buying before and after class.

To further encourage and motivate, the center is offering a $10 off pass and punch card special.

Chancellor takes ping pong challenge

The Altoona Benefiting THON Challenge the Chancellor Ping Pong Matches will be held from noon to

2 p.m. Wednesday and Feb. 14 in the Slep Student Center at Penn State Altoona.

Any student, faculty, staff or community member can pay $2 to take on chancellor and dean Lori J. Bechtel-Wherry in a friendly game of ping pong.

Bechtel-Wherry will match each player’s $2 and donate additional money for each game she loses.

In addition, there will also be a silent auction from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 14 to raise money for THON.

War Veterans Council to meet

HOLLIDAYSBURG — The Blair County War Veterans Council will resume its regular monthly meetings this month. The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
