Raffle to benefit CPHS

The Central Pennsyl-vania Humane Society is holding its Wiggle Waggle Steelers Raffle.

Raffle tickets are $10 each and are available at the CPHS, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, or by calling 942-5402.

The drawing will be held Dec. 2.

Ben in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ ticket office has donated his personal tickets on the 50-yard line for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ New Year’s Day football game against the Cleveland Browns.

On top of that, another anonymous donor donated two more game tickets for the same day.

In addition, two different winners are going to spend New Year’s Eve in Pittsburgh — two at the Omni William Penn Hotel and two at the Sheraton Station Square. Both stays were donated by the hotels.

For the third prize, a local artist in Pittsburgh creates statuettes of the Steelers players. Each of these silhouettes are one-of-a-kind. CPHS has acquired one of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger with a K9 police dog representing his foundation, which supports police and fire departments throughout the U.S. with a particular emphasis on support for K9 units and service dogs.

Roethlisberger’s foundation also supports Make-A-Wish, and combined, has distributed in excess of $1.3 million since 2007.

This marks the ninth grant cycle for the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation, which distributed more than $132,000 in grants to K9 units around the country during the 2014 NFL season, including $55,000 in the Pittsburgh community.

The  foundation distributed grants to K9 units of police and fire departments in the cities and surrounding communities of each regular season away game for the Steelers during the 2015 NFL season.

All proceeds from the Wiggle, Waggle Steelers Raffle will go to help the animals at the CPHS.

Last year’s raffle raised $10,000.
