Tiger Pride Day set for Saturday

HOLLIDAYSBURG – The Tiger Pride Committee and the Hollidaysburg Area School District are teaming up to host the second annual Tiger Pride Day on Saturday.

The new turf will be initiated with the boys’ soccer team kickoff game at

9 a.m.

“I look forward to having a good time watching sports, eating and participating in activities with friends at Tiger Pride Day,” said J.J. Collins, FBLA president and Tiger Pride publicity committee member. “This is a great event that gets all Hollidaysburg schools from elementary to high school together to kick off the school year.”

“Everyone coming together is what makes this so special – sports, clubs, music and community business members ending the summer and kicking school off with a bang, ” Ieva Grimm, Tiger Pride chair, said.

The day will be highlighted by a varsity football scrimmage against Altoona and Clearfield. Other activities include HAYFA games, club booths and activities, a dunking tank, alumni recognition, a ribbon-cutting for the new turf, Meet the Tigers introductions and a performance by the band.

A movie will be shown at dusk.

The public is invited.
