Youth basketball clinic

A total of 83 students in grades four through six participated in a basketball clinic on March 21 at the Altoona Area High?School?Fieldhouse.?the clinic was sponsored by the Central Blair Recreation & Park Commission and Penn State Altoona Men’s and Women’s basketball teams. The clinic raises money to benefit the CBRC Scholarship Fund. This year’s proceeds totaled $830, which provides assistance to children from low/moderate income families in the Altoona Area School District. The scholarship fund enables youngsters to participate in various CBRC activities, programs and events. In four years the clinic has raised approximately $3,000. Penn State Altoona basketball coaches, Billy Clapper, Casey Shoup, John Nardozza and Janelle Nardozza, along with their student athletes, volunteered their time and talents instructing the participants.
