Roaring Spring Library lists September events

The Roaring Spring Library lists September events. The library is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and?Thursday.

The library will be closed Sept. 1 in observance of Labor Day.

Adult programs

n 11 a.m. September 18 – Kelli Moss Outreach Coordinator with Senior LIFE will be providing education on “How to establish a Power of Attorney.” Information on frequently asked questions and common misconceptions of the role of a POA. We will discuss the different types of POA and explain the process and importance of establishing a POA. A free lunch will be provided during the program. Youth programs

n 10:30 a.m. Sept. 8 – The Blair/Clearfield Association for the Blind will visit the library for a free preschool (ages 3 to 6) eye screening and Eye Safety 101 program. Permission slips for vision screening can be obtained at the library. For more information visit

n 6 p.m. Sept. 8 – Come See What Girl Scouts is all About Join Girl Scouts of Western PA membership and community development manager Michele Bridges asshe offers a sampling of Girl Scout Activities at RSCL. n 10:30 a.m. Sept. 15 – Honeybee Storytime with Miss Amber! Taste local honey, see “bee bread,” and meet live honeybees and their queen in an observation hive. For more information on this organization visit

n 10:30 a.m. Sept. 22 – Insects Storytime with Creature Teacher Jody Wallace from the Blair County Conservation District. Hear, see, sniff and metamorphosis like an insect in a series of games, songs and a play.

n 10:30 a.m. Sept. 29 – A special Storytime with Miss Julie Colabove, Parent Educator from United Way’s Family Resource Center in Altoona will be presented at the library.

n 10:30 a.m. Sept. 11, 18, and 25 – Join Miss Paula Miller for Focus on Art Playgroup featuring arts and crafts for parents and children to enjoy together. Call the library to sign up for this new program.

Friends of the Library

6 p.m. Sept. 17 – Friends of the R.S.C.L. Meeting will be held.
