Golf tournament to aid MS Society
ROARING SPRING – New Pig Corporation, NPC Inc. and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will present the 14th annual Anne E. Barnes Memorial Golf Tournament Sept. 4 at Iron Masters Country Club.
Money raised will benefit the National?Multiple Sclerosis Society.
There will be morning and afternoon sessions. The rain date is Oct. 2.
A devoted wife and mother of three children, Anne lost her struggle with MS in the summer of 2001. Her natural grace and personal integrity was with her until the end, in spite of the difficult times. Anne kept her faith, her happy demeanor and selfless attitude. Her constant smile was contagious and her positive outlook on life was an inspiration to her family and to all who knew her.
There is a $125 per golfer donation with a four-person scramble format. The donation entitles each person to 18 holes of golf, cart, refreshments, breakfast provided by Iron Masters Country Club and lunch provided by Holland Brothers Pig Roast and Delgrosso’s meatball sandwiches.
Dinner will follow the event prepared by the clubhouse at Iron Masters Country Club.
Each participant will receive a golf hat, golf balls and tees, compliments of NPC Inc. and Ketrow Travel.
Gift certificates will be given to the first-, second- and third-place winners (men and women teams). There will be a $50 cash prize for being closest to the pin (three holes), also the man and woman with the longest drive.
The hole-in-one prize features a car donated by Stuckey Subaru on the ninth hole.
The deadline for registration is Friday, and it is on a first-come, first-served basis. Tee and green spots are available for $100, and there are various sponsorship levels available for corporate teams.
