Planting project

Members of the Blair Garden Club of Altoona planted flowers at Seventh Street and Chestnut Avenue in Altoona on May 31. A representative of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy also assisted with the planting. The site is a Western Pennsylvania Conservancy Community Garden, and the Blair Garden Club is responsible for planting, weeding and watering throughout the summer, as well as clean-up in the fall. Western Pennsylvania Conservancy works with more than 13,000 volunteers in 20 counties to plant community flower gardens throughout Pennsylvania. Blair Garden Club is a member of the Garden Clubs Federation of Pennsylvania and National Garden Clubs.
