Blair County Dairy Princess crowned

Jessica Orczeck was crowned 2014-15 Blair County Dairy Princess by her sister, the outgoing 2013-14 Blair County Dairy Princess Katherine Orczeck.

The pageant took place May 17 at the West Loop Missionary Church Social Hall in Hollidaysburg.

Jessica is the daughter of Dr. Shawn and Laura Orczeck of Roaring Spring and will be a senior this fall at Central High School, Martinsburg, taking mainly college credit and honor courses.

She has been a dairy promoter since 2006 serving as a Dairy Miss, Maid and Ambassador.

At Central she is a member of the marching and jazz bands, Central Cove FFA, where she competes in public speaking, National Honor Society and the Yearbook Committee.

She also served on the Prom Committee.

Outside of school, she is an active member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, the U.S. Pony Club, U.S. Equestrian Federation and Girl Scouts of America.

Jessica participated in a pre-pageant interview with judges Pete and Linda Hamming and Jenna Smith all of Martinsburg.

Robyn Bechtel served as the emcee for the pageant.

Jessica presented her skit titled “The Magic Milk Truck,” where, using an outline of the human body, she shows how the nine essential nutrients in milk help the body, and her speech, “The Hidden Benefits of Milk,” was about how drinking milk can improve your health.

Also introduced at the pageant were the following dairy representatives:

Future Dairy Princesses and Little Future Farmers: Rylee Stultz, Luke and Ty Uplinger, Anna and Adam Longenecker, Drew and Daniella Heltzel, Ryan and Morgan Knab and Jordan Smith.

Dairy Misses: Elizabeth Frederick, Dana and Darcy Heltzel, Ayla Hileman, Olivia Knab, Katheryn Longenecker and Taylor Uplinger.

Dairy Maids: Lindsey Brubaker, Marlana Knab, Victoria and Yvonne Longenecker, Cassandra Michelone and Kara Stultz.

Dairy Ambassadors: Kaydi Brubaker and Jacob Orczeck, aka Stilton the Cow.

The Blair County Dairy Promotion Committee presented Katherine with a scholarship from money earned from support by area farmers of the Dairy?Promotion trailer.
