BG elementary music meeting today

Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School will be expanding its instrumental music program to reach area parochial grade school students in grades four through eight.

Students entering these grade levels will be afforded the opportunity to choose a musical instrument and be taught the skills and techniques to become a young musician, playing alongside their peers.

In this program, students will receive weekly individual and/or group lessons with like instruments during the school day by Mel McConnell, former music director at BG.

There will be an informational session for parents at 7 p.m. today in the Bishop Guilfoyle cafeteria. All parents of the community are welcome to attend.

Instruments available include flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, snare drum, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone and French horn.
