PSEA campaign distributes ‘Books for Babies’ at hospitals

Members of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, through the “Books For Babies” campaign, recently purchased and distributed more than 240 new books for newborns and children at UPMC Altoona and Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.

PSEA members worked in collaboration with Barnes and Noble to purchase quality children’s book for newborns and also children who are patients in the children’s trauma center.

More than 1,200 babies are born at local hospitals each year, so the association’s goal now is to raise funds to purchase enough books for every newborn.

In addition, local school children have also indicated an interest in providing books for babies at the hospital.
