Library sets ‘Novel Affair’ dinner, auction
ROARING SPRING – The Roaring Spring Community Library will hold its sixth annual “A Novel Affair” Dinner and Silent Auction on March 15 at Trinity United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
“A Novel Affair” raises funds to help support the library. With new state mandates requiring added benefits be offered by the library, it is crucial for the library to raise extra funds.
The night will consist of dinner and silent auction, with many items to be auctioned off, including a Keurig coffee brewer, sponsored by Boscovs; a flat-screen TV, sponsored by the Friends of the Library; and Altoona Curve tickets, sponsored by The Altoona Curve.
Tickets for “A Novel Affair” are $25 per person.
Companies interested in becoming sponsors for the event can either place a business card ad in the booklet for $20 or become a corporate sponsor for $275. Corporate sponsors will receive eight tickets for the event, will be mentioned during the event and will also receive an ad in the booklet.

Library Knitting and Crochet Group – 6 p.m. every Wednesday.
“Get Medicare Answers in Person from a benefits consultant at Highmark” – 9:30 a.m. to noon March 27. Register by calling Highmark at 800-978-6590.
Pet Storytime – 10:30 a.m. March 10, 17 and 24. Enjoy stories about dogs and cats and their antics.
Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 Duncansville visits the library -?10 a.m. March 13.
Trinity Tot Spot visits the library – 11 a.m. March 25. This storytime is also open to the public. Children ages 3 to 5 and their adults are invited to attend this session.
Outreach to Garver YMCA – 9 a.m. March 26.
Outreach to Trinity Tot Spot – 9:30 a.m. March 26.
Outreach to Roaring Spring Head Start – 10:30 a.m. March 26.

Library and Book Cellar hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. New Items are added weekly.
Donations are accepted at the Book Cellar, located in the library at 320 E. Main St., during library hours.
