Curve FanFest set for Tuesday

Altoona Curve fans are invited to attend Curve FanFest 2014 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Casino at Lakemont Park, Altoona.

This event serves as the first opportunity for fans to meet the baseball players and coaches who will make up the Altoona Curve’s opening day roster, while celebrating the start of the upcoming season.

FanFest 2014 is spearheaded by the Altoona Curve Booster Club. The cost is $11 for Booster Club members and $12 for nonmembers, $6 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and younger.

Doors will open at 5:25 p.m., and the event will begin with music and a mini-silent auction of Curve memorabilia and other items. Curve merchandise and ticket information tables, along with the opportunity to sign up for fan raffles, will also be available. At 6:45 p.m., members of the team will be introduced. Immediately following will be a team autograph session from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Later in the evening, a live auction will take place.

Food and drinks will be served. Menu items will include chicken breast, red-skin potatoes, green beans, penne with marinara sauce, tossed salad, chips and dessert. Beverages will include soda and water. A cash bar will be available.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 943-5400 or at Peoples Natural Gas Field main office during normal business hours. Credit cards, checks or cash payments are acceptable. No tickets will be sold at the event.
