Fur Ball set for Oct. 26

The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society will hold its second annual Fur Ball fundraiser at 6 p.m. Oct. 26 at The Blairmont Club, Hollidaysburg.

This evening of elegant fun will begin with the Pooch Parade, sponsored by Stuckey Ford and Subaru, featuring adoptable dogs from the shelter all dressed up for Halloween.

Guests will enjoy dinner, a full open bar including seasonal cocktails, dance music provided by Steve “That DJ Guy” Willett and an extensive silent auction of unique items, including pieces of art created just for this event by local artists.

New to the Fur Ball this year will be an auction of fine wines, collected and offered by a group of area wine aficionados.

Tickets are $75 per person and are available at the CPHS shelter, 1837 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona; Cassidy’s Brew Zoo, 3414 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona; Stuckey Ford and Subaru, 500 Broad St., Hollidaysburg; JEMS Funky Consignments & More, 507 Allegheny Ave., Hollidaysburg, and Beerbower Jewelers, 315 Allegheny St., Hollidaysburg.

Tickets also may be purchased via PayPal at the shelter’s web site, www.centralpahumane.org.

Last year, the inaugural Fur Ball raised more than $11,000 toward the CPHS mission of finding forever homes for the 5,000 animals who come into its care each year.

The CPHS is a nonprofit organization and receives no funds from government or from national humane organizations. It relies solely on community support.
