CPHS Bikers for Barkers set for July 14

The 13th Annual Bikers for Barkers motorcycle run and car show to benefit the Central Pennsylvania

Humane Society (CPHS) sponsored by the Central Pennsylvania Convention & Visitors Bureau will be

held Sunday July 14th, 2013. Registration will be 9:00am to 11:00am, with kickstands up and motors

running at 11:30 sharp.

The run starts at Splinters Championship Lanes as in the past. Jill Reigh, CPHS Director of Outreach and

Marketing announced today that the ride now ends at Brush Mountain Sportsmen’s Club (BMSC). She

commented, “After an incredible ride through Blair, Centre and surrounding counties, we will all gather at

the BMSC for a great dinner and live music. Brush Mountain Sportsmen’s Club has plenty of covered

space for eating and dancing to the music. Plus they offer a swimming pool, lots of green space for

walking and a beautiful pond. This will be the perfect place to stretch and enjoy after the run.”

The day will feature a spectacular 100 plus mile ride through Central Pennsylvania, passing through many

small towns including Port Matilda and Houtzdale. Show cars are welcome to register and ride with their

route reversed from the bikes, crisscrossing during the afternoon. Registration for motorcycles and cars is

$20 per person.

Registration forms are available online at www.centralpahumane.org. Registration is $20 per rider, and

includes a limited edition event T-Shirt, dinner (catered by Jack’s Grubb Shack) and entertainment with

all proceeds helping the homeless animals at CPHS. Pre-register by June 14th to guarantee t-shirt size and

express registration the day of the event. The CPHS Bikers for Barkers Motorcycle Run & Car Show is a

popular event, welcoming over 750 animal enthusiasts each year.

Master of Ceremonies for the third year in a row will be Ben Manning from WTAJ.

The 13th Annual Bikers for Barkers Motorcycle Benefit Run and Car Show would not be possible without

the support of our great sponsors, including Appliance Outlet, ATS Transmissions and Woodland

Landscaping, AlliedOnGuard Security, Lang & Sons Construction, Fairfield Inn & Suites of Huntingdon

Other major sponsors include Jack’s Grubb Shack, Alley Poppers Restaurant, Port Matilda Hotel, and

Splinter’s Championship Lanes. T-Shirt sponsors include Mike’s Garage, Anytime Truck & Tire,

Frederick Lock & Key, Bellmeade Motors, Wick’s Copy Center, R Tire Shop, Apple Harley Davidson,

DeGennaro’s, Eden Valley Barns, JND Guns, CopyRite, Buccinese Club, Paul Davis Real Estate,

Reliable Tire & Auto Center, Imler’s Poultry and Crazy Hazys.

“Bikers for Barkers expects to welcome 800 visitors to the area for this event. Sponsorships are a great

way to provide exposure to your business while showing your community support for the shelter animals.

All money raised goes directly to helping the animals who need a new forever home,” noted Cathy

Manning of WTAJ and 2013 Bikers for Barkers committee co-chair. She encourages people to contact

CPHS staffers Jill Reigh at 942-2477 or Paul Gotthsall at 942-3780 or visit the CPHS website for more

information on how to become involved.

Manning added, “Stay connected! Don’t forget to like Bikers for Barkers and CPHS on Facebook!”

The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society’s Mission is to prevent animal neglect and cruelty through
