Rummage sale

Temple Treasures/Rummage Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 27-28 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 30 at Temple Beth Israel, 3004 Union Ave., Altoona. There will be toys, books, games, clothing and household items avaliable.

Organ recital

An organ recital will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Clearfield Presbyterian Church, 119 N. Second St., in downtown Clearfield. The 1967 Moller Pipe Organ will be played by organist Alex Ashman, a native of Mount Union and current director of music at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral in Harrisburg.

The concert is free; an offering will be accepted. A light reception will follow in the church’s garden, weather permitting.

Praise and worship

There will be a night of Praise and Worship at Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School at 7 p.m. Monday.

The evening of prayer is a joint effort of the Bishop Guilfoyle “Alive in the Spirit” student group and the Cathedral Prayer Group.

The evening of prayer will include a teaching by BG Campus Minister Bob Sutton, praise and worship led by the Cathedral Prayer Group and prayer ministry.

Students, adults and families are most welcome.

Vacation Bible school

Faith Baptist Church of Altoona will hold daily vacation Bible school — with classes for the entire family — July 14-18. Classes will range from nursery for the infants, through adults. Everyone is welcome.

Children and youth will meet each night from 6 to 8:45 p.m. beginning with a free dinner served at 6 p.m. Children age 3 through grade 6 are invited to “Mars and Beyond” to explore where God’s power can take you. Youth in 7th-12th grade will meet for nightly Bible study, songs and games.

The Adult class will be held each evening from 7 to 8:15 p.m. studying “The Book of Revelation in 5 Exciting Sessions” with Dr. Bill Shade of Source of Light Ministries International.

Transportation is available throughout Altoona.

Clothing giveaway

Altoona 28th Street Church of the Brethren will hold a free clothing and household item giveaway from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Yard sale

Faith United Church of Christ, 711 Seventh Ave., Altoona, will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday rain or shine. There will be a large variety of items and food, including soups, hot dogs, ox roast and baked goods.
