Group thanks church members

The Little Juniata River Association has held river bank clean-ups every spring since 2005.

Trash has been collected from 20 miles of river bank each year, with the help of more than 200 volunteer participants.

On Monday, Bill Anderson, LJRA president, presented a framed limited edition print created from an original oil by artist Jesse Hyde to the Spruce Creek United Methodist Church.

The painting features the church at the mouth of Spruce Creek and the Little Juniata River. During the presentation, Anderson thanked the church members for providing hot lunches and refreshments for clean-up participants for the past 13 years and for allowing the fishing and boating public to access the river from the church property.
