Nov. 17, 1967

The Rev. Ralph W. Lind, 70, a native of Altoona, celebrated his 25th year as pastor of Fourth Lutheran Church, Howard Avenue and Third Street. In an interview with the Mirror, he recalled selling copies of the Mirror for a penny and being knocked unconscious by a trolley car at 11th Avenue and 11th Street.

25 YEARS AGO:

Nov. 17, 1992

“Dancing — Now That’s Living,” a dance studio located in Duncansville, Doug Tompkins instructor, held a ballroom dance event at the Ramada Hotel of Altoona using its students to promote dancing.

Nov. 17, 2007

People calling authorities to complain about a loud “boom” at Penn State Altoona, Shari Routch spokeswoman, learned that the noise was caused by a photography teaching project using old-fashioned flash powder that exploded to create a light flash for the picture.
