Hollidaysburg church reports success with dinners

HOLLIDAYSBURG –The First Baptist Church of Hollidaysburg held free dinners every Tuesday during July and the first of August for anyone who wanted a hot meal and friendly conversation.

Organizers said a bag lunch was provided for anyone who wanted to take the meal home. Church members also delivered meals to St. Leonard’s Home in Hollidaysburg.

People of all ages attended the weekly dinners and crafts were provided for children to make and take home. Even a “wet puppy” attended, but waited outside with a puppy sitter while his master had dinner, organizers said.

First Baptist may continue the program next summer, as the events were well received, organizers said.
