Gospel music festival
Armagh United Methodist Church, 570 W. Philadelphia St. Ext., (old Route 22) Armagh, will host a gospel music festival from 6-10 p.m. May 19 and 1-10 p.m. May 20. The kitchen will be open from 5-8 p.m. Friday and noon-8 p.m. Saturday during the festival.
Festival performers on Friday include Randy Simpson, Dwayne Kaufman, David Powers, Tommy Barlow, Mercy’s Vessel, The Masters, New Journey and Faithful Friends.
Performing Sunday will be The Choraliers & Pearl, Heaven 4 Shore, Clowns for Christ, Randy Simpson, Dwayne Kaufman, David Powers, Faithful Friends, Fellowship Quartet, United, New Journey, Tommy Barlow, Mercy’s Vessel, The Masters and Chapter VII.

A dialogue sermon on Mother’s Day will be held at 10:45 a.m. Sunday at Faith United Church of Christ, 711 Seventh Ave., Altoona.
The service will include participation by those who have been inspired by various women from across the centuries. The text will be taken from I Peter 2:10 “Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people.”
The Altoona Chapter of Aglow International will meet on Tuesday at the Hoss’s on Seventh Street and Pleasant Valley Boulevard in Altoona. The group has changed the meeting day to Tuesdays.
Lunch will be at noon, followed by the meeting at 12:45 p.m. The meeting will begin with prayer and worship, followed by speaker Sandy Maines, vice president of Ministry Development, who will share on flowers and how each person is unique, even as each flower is special.

Spring-A-Ling will be held Saturday at Warriors Mark United Methodist Church, 1840 Centre Line Road, Warriors Mark, beginning at 9 p.m.
The event features an indoor yard sale, used book sale, bake sale, soup and sandwiches. Free coffee is available all day. The church is handicap accessible. For more information, call 632-6906.
Hicks Memorial United Methodist Church in Duncansville is sponsoring a chicken barbeque dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 20.
Tickets are $8 and can be purchased by calling the church office at 695-8529 or by emailing email@example.com. Take out is available.
Hicks Memorial UMC is located at 1211 Third Ave., Duncansville, next to Donnelly’s Antiques along Route 22.
Vacation Bible school
Maker FunFactory vacation Bible school will be held daily from 9 a.m. to noon June 19-23 at St John the Evangelist-Lakemont.
The cost for children of parishioners is $30. For families with three or more children, the cost is $80. The cost for children of non-parishioners is $35. The registration fee covers the cost of materials, supplies, a T-shirt for each participant, a CD for each family, daily snacks and crafts. Deadline for registration is June 5.
