Re-Creation performance slated for Canal Basin Park

Group will also lead services at Hollidaysburg church

Re-Creation, a full performance singing and dancing group from Port Trevorton, will take to the stage at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at Canal Basin Park, Hollidaysburg.

The event is free and open to the public; an offering will be accepted.

Those attending the performance are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating. In case of rain or adverse weather conditions, the program will be held in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, 801 Allegheny St., Hollidaysburg.

On Sunday, Re-Creation will lead worship during the 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and

11 a.m. services at the First United Methodist Church.

Re-Creation represents Re-Creation USA Inc., which provides entertainment programming for Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in the United States.

Re-Creation presents entertainment by 11 young performers who offer dynamic vocal renditions of America’s best-loved songs and enliven the stage with intricate, disciplined dance and choreography, according to a news release.

The music of Re-Creation is for audiences of all ages.

Style, mood, rhythm and beat are tailored for each performance and are presented with a blending of voices, glittering costumes and a sound reinforcement system.

According to the release, Re-Creation, founded in 1976, has performed in all 50 states. Credits include appearances at some of the nation’s most prestigious fairs and festivals, at local, regional, state and national corporation banquets and conventions, and at major resort areas. Re-Creation takes part in more than 300 concerts each year.

Since its founding, Re-Creation has appeared in churches of all denominations.

The Re-Creation sacred program is structured with a sensitive presentation of an enduring faith in the Christian message, the release stated.
