Roast beef dinner

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 136 Hilltop Road, Lilly, will serve a roast beef dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Cost to eat-in is $9 for adults, $4.50 for children 12 and younger. Takeouts are available for $9. For more information, call 884-0205.

Concerts

Timothy Melbinger, lecturer in music at Penn State Altoona, will offer five premieres of his original work during the Altoona Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament’s Concerts Under the Dome series.

Musicians include Penn State Altoona’s Ivyside Pride, conducted by Bonnie Cutsforth-Huber, the Juniata College Wind Symphony and Percussion Ensemble, and local soprano singer Kelly Jo Wise, harpist Anne Sullivan and flutist Diane Gold Toulson.

The concert will take place at the Cathedral at 7:30 p.m. April 28. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Kingsmen Quartet will present a concert at 6 p.m. April 30 at the Clearfield Alliance Church, 45 Alliance Road. An offering will be accepted, and all are invited to attend.

Crissman, Crissman & Gampe will perform a southern gospel concert 6 p.m. April 30 at the Smith Corner Independent Mennonite Church, 1955 Johnstown Road, East Freedom, on Route 164, 3.1 miles west of old Route 220 (Dunnings Highway).

Spaghetti dinner

Christ United Methodist Church, 1359 Pennsylvania Ave., Tyrone, will serve a spaghetti dinner April 27. Takeouts will be available beginning at 4 p.m. The dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost is $5 for adults, $3.50 for children. Pot pie dinner

Upper Claar Church of the Brethren, Claysburg, will hold its annual Pot Pie Supper at 5 p.m. April 29. Cost is by donation; takeouts will be available. For more information, call 239-5449. Peach pot pie will also be available.

Sacred Music Library

The Sacred Music Library located in the First Presbyterian Church, 601 Walnut St., Hollidaysburg, will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 29. Church choir directors and those interested in sacred music are welcome to attend and see what music is available to be borrowed.

Yard sale

A community-wide yard sale will be held from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 5 at Crossroads Bible Church, formerly Heartland Hall, Business Route 220, Bedford. Items available will be children’s clothing, toys, games, puzzles, furniture, household items, exercise equipment, small appliances, tools, fabric, books, curtains, plants, holiday decorations, sporting/hunting clothing/accessories, handbags, boots, shoes, art and craft supplies and more. There will be a bake sale, food and refreshments. All proceeds will support Crossroads’ youth group and youth missions. Luncheon

Second Avenue United Methodist Church, 130 Second Ave., Altoona, will host Seth and Jessica Lyon, and their toddler, Aria, during a luncheon for the entire family at 11 a.m. May 13. Mothers will be celebrated during the luncheon that will also include a program by the Lyons on Urban Impact, a faith-based organization in Pittsburgh. The Lyons will present their story and how — and why — Seth found himself working and serving with Urban Impact as the manager of Outreach Basketball.

The meal will be provided by Prime Sirloin Steakhouse and includes chicken tenders, salad and dinner rolls for adults, and chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, veggies and dip for children. Beverages and dessert are also included. Cost is $5; children ages 2 and younger can eat for free. Reservations can be made by calling 943-2072.
