Lenten meals will be served from 4-7 p.m. each Friday through April 7 at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Parish, Father Kelley Hall, 25th Avenue and Fifth Street.

The menu includes baked or fried fish or fried or steamed shrimp, macaroni and cheese or french fries or baked potato, cole slaw or applesauce, stewed tomatoes, roll and butter, dessert and a drink. Take outs are available. Cost is $9.50 for adults and $6.50 for children under 12.

Providence Presbyterian Church, 2401 Broad Ave., Altoona, will serve a free luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The menu will include a variety of homemade soups, a sandwich, beverages, desserts and fruit. The meal is open to the public.

Juniata United Methodist Church will hold an indoor yard sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 24-25 in the church social hall, 808 N. Fourth St., Altoona. Household items, old and new items, and furniture items will be available for purchase. Bedford County Chapter of Citizens Concerned for Human Life will hold its 13th annual Pro-Life Dinner and Silent Auction March 25 at Crossroads Bible Church, 5564 Business 220, Bedford. Dinner will be at 6 p.m.; silent auction will run from 5 to 7 p.m.

Dr. John T. Bruchalski, founder of Tepeyac Family Center LLC in Fairfax, Va., and chairman of Divine Mercy Care will be the featured speaker.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students and 4 and younger are admitted free. For information or reservations, call 652-6755. Reservations are due March 18.

Hicks Memorial United Methodist Church, 1211 Third Ave. in Duncansville, will host a Free Soup Lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The lunch will feature homemade chicken pasta soup, applesauce or fruit cocktail, beverage and cookies, cakes and cupcakes prepared by members of the congregation.

Faith Baptist Cafe will serve a free community meal from 11:30 a .m. to 1 p.m. April 1 at Faith Baptist Church, 315 40th St., Altoona. The meal includes meat loaf, macaroni and cheese, mixed vegetables, roll and dessert. The free meal is held the first Saturday of each month. Call 944-2894 if you need a ride. Deadline to call is 3 p.m. the Friday before the meal.

Altoona Chapter of Aglow International will meet Monday at the Gourmet Buffet on Plank Road in Altoona. Lunch is at noon, followed by the meeting at 12:45 p.m. The meeting will begin with prayer and praise and worship, followed by speaker Gary Hale, missionary to Africa.
