Family: Mother, Kim; Father, Matt; Sister, Kaili; Brother, Pete

Future goals: Major in biomedical engineering and hope to attend Johns Hopkins. I plan on building prosthetics for children.

Achievements: Senior class president, student council treasurer and a four-time Carson Scholar; created a prosthetic arm for a local child using the school’s 3D printer; straight “A” student taking college classes; senior field commander for the Northern Bedford Panther Marching Band, and the flute/piccolo section leader.

Awards/special recognition: Placed third in the VFW Freedom of Speech writing contest in 2015, an honor roll student and member of Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. Received the highest grade for solo and duet performances at the Maryland State Solo and Ensemble Festival.

Hobbies, community activities and interests: Play flute and piccolo and loves music. Involved in the Cove Community Choir, Theater, Show Choir, and is a varsity football and winter cheerleader.

Most influential teacher: My  seventh-grade math teacher, Mrs. Curry, had a passion for math that was contagious. She made her classes enjoyable.

Heroes: My dad, a Pennsylvania State Trooper who risks his life every day, and Dr. Ben Carson, who had many hardships throughout his life, yet he became a successful neurosurgeon.
