Blair County Arts Festival Weekend!

Here is a listing of Altoona area live music happenings for the weekend and week of Friday, May 18 through Thursday, May 24.

Another temporal marker as spring advances toward summer in this part of the world is the annual Blair County Arts Festival. The 51st edition of this event happens Saturday and Sunday at Penn State Altoona, and promises to be filled with multiple arts and crafts vendors and displays, the ever-popular food court, art exhibits in the campus’ Misciagna Family Center and Slep Student Center, and live arts and music entertainment on four different stages. Dance and theatrical performances will happen inside the Misciagna Family Center’s Wolf Kuhn Theatre, while musical performances will take place on the Misiagna Portico, Pavilion and Food Court stages. See the listing below for the festival’s musical schedule on both days. Admission to the festival is free; a donation for parking will be accepted, which helps fund the festival. The festival happens rain or shine.

For outdoor shows, in the event of inclement weather, please call or use social media to check ahead to make sure the show is still taking place, especially if you are driving any distance to attend.

Check out and support the area live music! And if you celebrate heavily while doing so, please designate a sober driver or call a taxi to get you home.
