Night Market, New Germany Arts & Crafts, Italian Food Festival This Weekend!

Here is a listing of Altoona area live music happenings for the weekend and week of Friday, Sept. 15 through Thursday, Sept. 21.

The final official weekend of the Summer of 2017 features several festival and fair favorites, plus a special night market event.

The Downtown Night Market event returns to downtown Altoona’s Heritage Plaza on Friday evening. The event will feature numerous food vendors and farmers markets, arts, children’s activities, and live music. Zach Wade & the Good Grief kick off the music on the Rail Car stage at 4 p.m., with Mama Corn following at 7 p.m.

The annual New Germany Festival of Arts & Crafts, a fundraiser for the Summerhill Borough Volunteer Fire Department, happens on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at New Germany Grove in New Germany. Multiple arts and crafts vendors will have their creations on display, food and refreshments will be available, and acoustic live music will take the stage both days.

Delgrosso’s Amusement Park in Tipton and La Familia Delgrosso present the 28th annual Italian Food & Heritage Festival on Sunday afternoon from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. A wide variety of Italian food menu items will be served from various pavilions starting at 11 a.m., and Italian musical entertainment will take place throughout the day. Daniela Pasquini, Marco Fiorante & Friends will perform on the main stage at 1 and 3 p.m., and the Faiella’s Father & Son Strolling Guitar & Mandolin will perform at various spots throught the park starting at noon and 2 p.m. Admission is free.

And one of the final local fairs of the season, the annual Harmony Grange Fair, starts Tuesday near Westover in western Clearfield County. Live musical entertainment happens each night through Saturday; check the listings below for more details.

For outdoor shows, in the event of inclement weather, please call or use social media to check ahead to make sure the show is still taking place, especially if you are driving any distance to attend.

Check out and support the area live music! And if you celebrate heavily while doing so, please designate a sober driver or call a taxi to get you home.
